After My Gypsy Soul (2008) and More Gigs (2011) the tested manouche trio (Luciano Poli on guitar, Mauro Sereno on doublebass and Hillary Katch on ritmic guitar and percussions) comes back with a new product. Emblematic the title they have chosen to present this new album of which all songs of their composition, “Play As You Are”. Each musician expresses himself following his own creativity, however melting with the aims of the group, being their purpose and way of feeling the same. The sounds are, as is their characteristic, neat and clean, and stand out in their individuality and emphasize the careful research of style. The flowing virtuosity of Luciano Poli, the constant and relentless rhythm of the bass of Sereno and the ritmic guitar of Katch, who also enhances the songs with an original use of percussions, are therefore strongly linked to recreate that atmosphere, recalling the sounds of gypsy manouche and naturally flow in other musical genres. What we finally listen to are charming songs that remind us of the smoky Parisian settings of early 1900, but totally contemporary at the same time.
