She is in fine form and demonstrates why she has one of the most readily identifiable voices in popular music over the past 30 years. • Born in Macon and raised in Cincinnati, Crawford's breakthrough resulted from her fiery vocal on "Street Life," the title track of the 1979 album by the Crusaders, led by Joe Sample.
