Aldo instructs at Salerno Music Conservatory

In addition to the aforementioned KoSA Italy 2012, Aldo also had the pleasure of giving two days of workshops at the Salerno Music Conservatory. The percussion instructor at the Conservatory, highly regarded Italian percussion artist Paolo Cimmino, collaborated with Aldo in a series of classes featuring the nuances of Cuban percussion, rhythm techniques and their extrapolation on drumset.

In addition, the Conservatory class performed a contemporary original percussion piece composed for the quartet REPERCUSSION and arranged by Aldo. Further workshops covered concepts of West African rhyhms on djembes as well as "insider" performance concepts on drumset.

Plans are in the works for a return by Aldo Mazza in the fall 2012 to continue these workshops at the conservatory and expand the KoSA transatlantic collaborations.
