Brooklyn based drummer/composer Devin Gray leads an all star NYC line up through compositions written specifically for the band. Crafted around the individual strengths of these musical veterans, each composition unearths new possibilities exposing the members continuous contributions to America's original art form. Gray's style is often compared to Dutch master drummer HAN BENNINK, with traces of JOHN HOLLENBECK'S compositional chops. Dirigo Rataplan uniquely represents three musical generations experience with emphasis on Gray’s as the leader of the quartet. The debut recording from Brooklyn based drummer and composer Devin Gray offers a strong introduction to the future output of his artistic vision.
