LISTEN TO EXCLUSIVE STREAMING TRACKS FROM HEART FIRST
Wild West Artist Management is proud to announce the signing of internationally recognized jazz-pop vocalist Halie Loren. The announcement coincides with the March 6th release of Loren's debutJ ustin Time Records album, Heart First.
"I feel very positive about the new and exciting things happening in my musical career this year, and my new management relationship with Jim West and Keith Altomare is making an already seemingly red-letter year even more promising," said Loren. "Not only have they already begun to make things happen with my music around the world that I would have never dreamed of, but they are also fantastic human beings whom I respect immensely and like very much. I certainly feel that I lucked out."
Jim West, Loren's co-manager and president of Wild West Artist Management and Justin Time Records, has an ear for talent of Loren's caliber. West, who produced Diana Krall's debut albumStepping Out (released on Justin Time Records in 1993), said, "We are very excited to be working with the multi-talented Halie Loren on a number of levels, not least of which is exposing her incredible talents to the rest of the world. Thank you to Keith Altomare for his wonderful persistence and encouragement in introducing me to this extraordinary singer/songwriter."
"I was very excited to start discussions with Jim West and Wild West about Halie," said Loren's co-manager Keith Altomare of Music Marketing Management. "Jim has the experience to help us take the success we've already achieved with Halie to a global level. I look forward to the future working with him."
Loren's new release, Heart First, is a jazz-pop elixir of original and cover tunes rich with earthy melodies: sultry in their delivery, naturally warm in tone. Loren's voice, complemented by acoustic instrumentals, penetrates her listeners' ears like a story that must be heard, captivating and hooking them onto every syllable.
Loren's voice has been winning admirers worldwide since her jazz debut in 2008, They Oughta Write a Song, which received the 2009 JPF award for Best Vocal Jazz Album and went on to become 2010's No. 4 top-selling jazz CD on Amazon Japan. After Dark (2010) included Loren's original "Thirsty," which won the listener-determined Vox Pop award for best jazz song at the 10th annual Independent Music Awards. Heart First recently won Jazz Critique Magazine's Golden (top) prize for best vocal album in its annual Jazz Audio Disc Awards 2011. Her genre-crossing albums have reached No. 1 on Amazon Japan's jazz chart and are consistent top-ten contenders on jazz and pop radio. Success has brought Loren's music to ever-widening audiences, including sellout concerts at the Cotton Club in Tokyo, headlining the Ginza Jazz Festival in 2010, and tours in the U.S., Europe, and Asia.
