County Jazz Festival Invites Mamaroneck HS

In addition to the two bands, made up of students from various schools, the Mamaroneck Jazz Band will perform as a guest band, along with New Rochelle High School. This is the 18th consecutive year Mamaroneck has been invited to perform in this event.

Kings Park festival named for local jazz musician

After six years as the Kings Park Jazz Festival, the show has been renamed the Ranny Reeve Jazz Festival, in honor of the musician who has for generations helped keep jazz music alive in Kings Park. This year's show is scheduled for Feb. 17, at 7 pm at the R.J.O Intermediate School in Kings Park.

Herwig to kick off 53rd jazz festival

Eastern's music department will be hosting its 53rd annual jazz festival on Feb. 10 and 11.
The festival will start off Feb. 10 with a concert by the jazz musician, Conrad Herwig.
The concert is scheduled to start at 7:30 p.m. in the Dvorak Concert Hall of the Doudna Fine Arts Center.
Herwig is a New York jazz trombonist that has been active in the world of jazz for more than 30 years. He was voted No. 1 jazz trombonist in the 2002 DownBeat "Jazz Critic's Poll."


 Liberty school holds jazz festival

LIBERTY, NY — The Liberty Central School Department of Music will host the 16th Annual Liberty Jazz Festival on Saturday, February 4, at 7 p.m. in the middle school gymnasium. The festival will feature high school and middle school jazz ensembles from Liberty and Monticello. The students will also have the opportunity to participate in an afternoon clinic (beginning at 3 p.m.) with a renowned jazz artist and educator, said festival co-chairman and director of music Gary Siegel.


 Blues Bash ignites festival's 10th anniversary celebration

Juno award winner Paul James will help launch the celebration of a decade of Orangeville’s Blues & Jazz Festival.  James joins festival founder Larry Kurtz, as well as Ryan Grist with The Heavyweights Brass Band, for the Blues & Jazz Bash at the Best Western PLUS Orangeville Inn and Suites on Feb. 11. The blues bash serves as a fundraiser for the 10th annual Orangeville Blues & Jazz Festival, held the first weekend in June.
“It’s a great little double bill,” Kurtz said.


Tickets on sale for Highland Jazz Festival
