GERMANY: New label: "Jazz Haus"

A new German jazz label founded by two jazz veterans: Joachim-Ernst Berendt and Dieter Zimmerle . The catalogue will include previously unreleased jazz material recorded by famous US and European jazz musicians after the WW2 in Europe.

Among these gems there are a 50s: a session with Miles Davis, Lester Young and the Modern Jazz Quartet (1956), and another one with Miles and  the SDR Big Band (1957) a historical concert with Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers in Karlsruhe (1958), a few days after Blakey's first recording for Blue Note, Kurt Edelhagen first recordings with Caterina Valente (1953) and (1954) with Claus Ogerman.


Also features: big bands such as Erwin Lehn and Kurt Edelhagen: Duke Ellington, Benny Goodman, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Quincy Jones, Count Basie. The great soloists of the 60s: Dave Brubeck, Gerry Mulligan, Zoot Sims, Ben Webster, Joe Henderson, Cannonball Adderley, Roland Kirk, Max Roach, Archie Shepp, Don Cherry, Charlie Haden, Bud Powell, Eric Dolphy ... and Monk Miles and Trane, of course.

The European jazz will be present with the work of  Hans Koller, Albert and Emil Mangelsdorff, Klaus Doldinger, Joe Zawinul, Rolf and Joachim Kuhn, Attila Zoller,  Volker Kriegel , Kenny Clarke, Martial Solal, AndrĂ© Hodeir, Barney Wilen, Rene Urtreger, Pierre Michelot .
