Marc Ribot y Los Cubanos Postizos (aka “The Prosthetic Cubans”) se convirtió en un grupo indispensable a finales de los noventa con sus febriles conciertos a base de arreglos de la música del líder cubano Arsenio Rodríguez, innovador del son montuno, y dos discos muy celebrados por público y crítica editados por Atlantic Records. En el 2011 regresaron a los escenarios por petición popular con Horacio “El Negro” Hernández a la batería y los miembros originales: Anthony Coleman (teclado), Brad Jones (bajo) y EJ Rodriguez (percusión), tocaron de nuevo ante eufóricas audiencias en los escenarios del Festival de Jazz de Montreal, del Fuji Rock Festival de Japón y en el Ellnora Guitar Festival celebrado en el Krannert Center of Performing Arts de Illinois. Este verano en su gira por Europa estarán en Barcelona y Donostia.

"These unreleased recordings were made in the years 1963 to 1967 and have been transferred from original tapes found in the archives of the Swiss Broadcasting Corporation (Radio DRS). At that time Radio Zurich produced some hard bop and modern jazz sessions for broadcasting purposes, with different formations around the two jazz musicians Hans Kennel (trumpet) and Bruno Spoerri (saxes) - the "Hans Kennel Quintet" and "Bruno Spoerri Allstars". They come from a time when the musicians emancipated themselves from a mere imitation of American originals, step by step. For the first time the best takes – original compositions and pieces by a.o.
