The goal is to promote the design and originality of video clips, made by all professional and amateur video makers that are going to be inspired by the album MODERN ACCORDION of the artist Marco Lo Russo aka Rouge, born and commissioned as a discography work for synchronization with the images (commercials , TV and Cinema ).
Seventeen tracks, where the young artist blends the sonority of the accordion with electronic arrangement, combining different musical languages: world music, chill out, ethno-jazz, tango, EDM, contemporary expression of feelings. Modern Accordion has become also a show that crossed the European borders. Thanks to the collaboration with several theater dance companies, which choreographed its precious musical colors on many international stages.
Modern Accordion is a discographic work commissioned by the prestigious Filipper Music directed by Romano di Bari, further more it’s a concept, both acoustic and electronic contamination, where the accordion is the protagonist. In the hands of the artist this poliedric instrument comes alive and plays a different role from the one of the secular. The participants, that want to transfer this inspiration in their artistic creation, are going to see the videos during the 2015 FONDI Film FESTIVAL, curated by Giuseppe De Santis Association, in the city of Fondi, in the province of Latina.
The event will take place from September 19 to 27, 2015. An excellent jury, like the directors Ruggero Gabbai and Emanuele Giliberti, experts in the field and entertainment personalities is in charge to select the winner that will have the opportunity to collaborate with Flipper Music and make corporate videos. Each participant will choose a track from the album Modern Accordion of the artist Marco Lo Russo aka Rouge at https://soundcloud.com/marco-lo-russo/sets/modern-accordion-1 or it is possible to buy the album on ITunes: https://itunes.apple.com/it/album/modern-accordion-travel-lifestyle/id582165952  and make the video inspired by the track. USA: Posi-Tone Records: New Release from Walt Weiskopf "Open Road"

"Walt Weiskopf has a thing or two to say on the saxophone. When he does, he speaks with clarity, concision and swing.  Weiskopf comes to work with a level of preparation few can challenge. A veteran of bands led by Buddy Rich and Toshiko Akiyoshi, he’s been a leader for twenty years and also a touring member of Steely Dan for over a decade.  Through his innovative teaching and series of books, Walt has opened the secrets of intervallic improvisation pioneered by John Coltrane for players around the world, introducing new colors to the palette of jazz." - WBGO Radar

Walt Weiskopf "Open Road"

Saxophonist extraordinaire Walt Weiskopf shifts into another gear and takes us along for the ride on the "Open Road."  As a tour de force collection of hard hitting performances, Weiskopf's second release for Posi-Tone features the hard swinging rhythm section of pianist Peter Zak, bassist Mike Karn, and drummer Steve Fidyk.  All of the musicians in the band do some heavy lifting behind the sensational melodicism and harmonic inventions of their fearless leader.  From the opening downbeat to the final salvo, Weiskopf keeps the music moving steadily straight ahead and reaffirms that he is certainly in motion and on his way to success with an "Open Road" out in front of him.

USA: The Bad Plus Joshua Redman (Nonesuch 2015)

The Bad Plus Joshua Redman

"The Bad Plus (plus one) roared as if a quartet were always lying just beneath its surface." —Los Angeles Times

In 2011, The Bad Plus invited saxophonist Joshua Redman to join them for a week of enthusiastically received performances at the Blue Note in New York City. They then played a handful of dates before heading into the studio in 2014 to record their debut album, The Bad Plus Joshua Redman, which Nonesuch releases on May 26, 2015. Seven of the nine tracks on The Bad Plus Joshua Redman are new compositions by the quartet members who, in addition to Reid Anderson and Redman, include The Bad Plus pianist Ethan Iverson and drummer David King. The other two songs on the album, "Dirty Blonde" and "Silence Is the Question," are new arrangements of Bad Plus favorites.

Of a recent show in Great Barrington, MA, Albany’sMetrolandsaid, "The newly christened Bad Plus Joshua Redman took the stage … and proceeded to raise the roof. In a word, the music the quartet produces is sublime. More than that, it's as though Redman is the long-lost fourth member of the group, just waiting to be snapped snugly into place."

"On the live gigs, Josh plays magnificent, long tenor solos which are very much in the jazz tradition," said Iverson. "That’s obviously not the focus when we play as The Bad Plus. It’s fun to for us to enjoy that extended blowing territory, especially with someone as great as Josh. On the album, however, there is still a focus on composition."

Anderson told Minneapolis’ Star Tribune: "Josh is a professional of the highest order. He came in knowing our music to the point of memorizing it, with great, positive energy."

Redman adds, "Playing with The Bad Plus has allowed me to explore a part of my playing, and my musical heritage, that I’ve never before accessed in quite the same way with any other group. The adventure with The Bad Plus pushes me toward the fringes and draws me into the core."
