Dorantes is David Peña Dorantes, of the Perrate dynasty of Lebrija, all of them artists of at least three generations, since the times of his grandmother, Maria la Perrata, or as his uncle, the recently disappeared and famous singer, El Lebrijano. He is the pianist of the family, an authentic virtuous who plays jazz and all the classic symphonic repertoire. But there is a great love story of Dorantes with the flamenco and with its people, as you could see and hear yesterday and many other times. | |||

THEATRE OF CANAL - MADRID june 2017The Taksim Trio is composed by Hüsnü Senlendirici, clarinet and duduk, a wind instrument originated in Armenia; Ismail Yunçbilek, the master of the baglama, a string instrument with ancestors in the lute and mandolin, and Aytaç Dogan, with the kanun, a Middle Eastern instrument that could be at the origin of the guitar. And to the percussion, the habitual one of Dorantes, Javi Ruibal, located in the center of the scene with its equipment of percussion, with Dorantes and the great piano to its left, and to its right in this order: Aytaç Dogan, Ismail Tunçbilek and Hüsnü Senlendirici. As Ruibal says, “I am the mediator”. Those of the trio, apart from extraordinary musicians, are close and accomplices with the public, especially Ismail, who lavishes sympathy and closeness and who could be an Andalusian gypsy by his appearance . As someone said, those of Istanbul and Lebrija could be brothers and sisters. |
