On May 7th 2012 Artistry Jazz Group released their third album, Tribute – followed by a tour in Scandinavia. On the new album, each song is a tribute to the composer or artist associated with the song, and the band is enlarged with three of Sweden’s most renowned brass players.
Among the composers and artists who are paid tribute on the album, are celebrities like George Gershwin, Judy Garland, Miles Davis and Harold Arlen. The result is a varied mix, but with common roots in the American music treasury from jazz, film and musicals, bebop and swing together with big band heritage and poetic ballads.
Worth noticing is that Vivian Buczek on this album gets to show her rich register on seven songs. On Tribute, Artistry Jazz Group also has company of friends, featuring well-reputed Peter Asplund on trumpet, Klas Lindquist, saxophone and clarinet, and Janne Bengtsson on flute, in addition to the ordinary crew with Jan Lundgren on piano, Jacob Fischer on guitar, the bass virtuoso Hans Backenroth, Johan Löfcrantz Ramsay on drums and, already mentioned, vocalist Vivian Buczek.
