Basho Music is delighted to announce a unique concert presenting star British saxophonist Tim Garland (Chick Corea, Bill Bruford, Lighthouse) in collaboration with some of the finest musicians from one of the world’s biggest jazz festivals – Jarasum in Korea. Part of a series of concerts at St. James’s Piccadilly in the London Jazz Festival, Garland’s performance will explore Korean roots music fused with jazz in a vibrant celebratory mix. Garland will be joined by Jean Ohon guitar, Lee Aram on the Daegeum Korean Bamboo Flute and Heo Yoon Jeong on the Geomumgo, a traditional Korean six-stringed zither. Also joining this unusual and exciting ensemble will be Parliamentary Jazz Award winner John Turville on piano and Lighthouse’s Asaf Sirkis on drums. The acclaimed Swiss pianist and recent Basho signing Christoph Stiefel will play an opening set with his rhythmically charged Inner Language Trio. This fascinating adventure for all the musicians involved will surely be a special and memorable concert performance.
Support from the Swiss isorhythms of pianist Christoph Stiefel's brilliant trio with Christoph Arne Huber bass, Kevin Chesham drums featuring work from their recent album "LIVE!" on Basho Records.
