The Blazin' Quartet about their Chinese tour: “Playing for such a open and responsive audience with a very special culture has been a blast! Amazing people with an amazing culture. One of the nicest art districts we've seen is around the Lofts at OTC in Shenzhen, with the headquarters at the Old Heaven Bookstore, where we've had a great time playing and meeting people.”
Right now, the band is touring in Serbia. They have already played 3 concerts in Belgrado, and 3 more in other parts of Serbia are coming up! The dates are:
26/10/2012 - Jazz Festival Indjija, Indjija - Serbia
27/10/2012 - Jazz Festival Sabac, Sabac, Serbia
28/10/2012 - Jazz Festival Kragujevac, Kragujevac, Serbia
After that, the band will go on to Germany to play at the MIB Jazz Festival in Bremen.
The band released their latest album Jalkan Bazz in June. Their music is just like being on a market where you can find everything: fruits, clothes, a date, cheap electronics and so on. Their diverse European background (Balkan, Scandinavia, Western-Europe) mixes in with their mutual language of jazz. And while the music relies on melody, rhythm and interplay, the absence of a chord instrument gives enough space for electronic sounds and loops.
Or as Rambo Amadeus says: "This record is cool like swimming pool"
