3 Brave Souls, an all star formation of three generations of Miles Davis alumni. Keyboardist John Beasley, bassist Darryl Jones and master drummer Ndugu Chancler join forces in a formidable new funk trio!
"This record is about being brave and putting our souls out there", say Beasley, Ndugu, & Jones. They came together to write listenable, danceable melodic music bringing the funk and plenty of downhome soul, with an undercurrent of jazz sensibility to move you to the dance floor! The jazz veterans also have some guest stars who join them: “Wanna Get Away” and “Nothing Left to Say” both feature the remarkably soulful vocals of Sy Smith.
