SERBIA: Novi Sad Jazz Festival begins tonight

The concert of Lena Kovacevic and her band on Tuesday evening will mark the beginning of the 13th Novi Sad Jazz Festival, the main program of which includes performances of world famous musicians.

A total of 12 ensembles headed by prominent musicians including Ron Carter, Gonzalo Rubalcaba, Dusko Gojkovic and Gisle Torvik will perform at the festival, which begins on November 16 at the Serbian National Theatre.

The organizers announced an exhibition of jazz posters and several free youth workshops held by saxophonist Magnus Mel, drummer Ferenc Mel, and other distinguished musicians.

The entrance to the programs at the Cultural Center is free, whereas individual tickets for the performances at the Serbian National Theatre cost RSD 700, and ticket packages RSD 2,300 (EUR 1=RSD 101).
